From Guilt to Grace

Oct 3, 2025    Pastor Nick Holliday

Barabbas is one of the most overlooked figures in the Bible. He was guilty, violent, and completely deserving of judgment. And yet, on the day Jesus was condemned, Barabbas walked out of prison a free man.

Why? Because Jesus took his place.

In this episode of the Heaven Yeah Podcast, we unpack what that exchange means for us today:

• We are guilty like Barabbas — we’ve all fallen short.

• We have a substitute like Barabbas — Jesus stood where we should have stood.

• We’ve been pardoned like Barabbas — no condemnation remains.

• We must not waste our freedom — freedom is a gift to be lived boldly, loved freely, and used for Christ.

👉 Whether you’ve never received this pardon or you’ve been walking with Jesus for years, this story will open your eyes to how undeserving we are, how amazing the gift really is, and how to live as people who have been set free.

Let’s not go back to the chains. Let’s live like people who are free.
