Join Us In 52 Weeks Of Prayer

Each week during our prayer time we will highlight a specific group in our community (local law enforcement, schools, hospitals, military, government leaders, foster care/DCS, farmers, missionaries, etc.) as is an intentional way for our congregation to remain prayerful, outwardly focused, and unified as we intercede for our community and beyond.

This week in our 52-Week Prayer Focus, we are praying for children in the foster care system, foster and biological families, caseworkers, and the many organizations and individuals who serve and support them.

Foster care often involves children and families walking through incredibly difficult circumstances. Behind every case, placement, and decision are real children who need safety and stability, parents and families facing difficult situations, foster families opening their homes, and professionals working to determine what is best for each child.

Here in Indiana, the Department of Child Services (DCS) works alongside foster families, courts, service providers, churches, and community organizations to protect children and strengthen families. Ministries and organizations throughout our communities also provide practical resources, mentoring, meals, clothing, beds, support, and encouragement.

This week, let's pray for everyone touched by the foster care system and ask God to bring protection, healing, wisdom, and restoration.

🙏 How to Pray

❤️ Children in Foster Care
Pray for children who have been removed from their homes or are living in uncertain circumstances. Ask God to protect them, comfort them, give them stability, and surround them with adults who will love and care for them well.

🏠 Foster & Kinship Families
Pray for families who open their homes to children in need. Ask God to give them patience, wisdom, endurance, compassion, and the resources they need to provide safe and loving homes.

👨‍👩‍👧 Biological Families & Reunification
Pray for parents and families working toward healing and reunification. Ask God to bring transformation, provide needed resources and support, and restore families whenever it is safe and possible.

🤝 DCS, Caseworkers & Courts
Pray for DCS caseworkers, attorneys, judges, advocates, therapists, and others making difficult decisions involving children and families. Ask God to give them wisdom, discernment, compassion, and strength.

⛪ Churches & Support Organizations
Pray for churches, ministries, nonprofits, and community organizations serving foster children and families. Ask God to provide volunteers, financial resources, foster homes, and strong partnerships to meet needs throughout our communities.

🙏 Adoption & Permanency
Pray for children who cannot safely return home and are waiting for adoption or another permanent placement. Ask God to provide loving, stable families and lasting relationships.

✝ Hope & Healing in Jesus
Above all, pray that children, biological parents, foster families, caseworkers, and everyone connected to the foster care system would encounter the love and hope of Jesus Christ. Pray that the Church would faithfully demonstrate His compassion to vulnerable children and hurting families.
