Join Us In 52 Weeks Of Prayer

Each week during our prayer time we will highlight a specific group in our community (local law enforcement, schools, hospitals, military, government leaders, foster care/DCS, farmers, missionaries, etc.) as is an intentional way for our congregation to remain prayerful, outwardly focused, and unified as we intercede for our community and beyond.

After the blessing of having the Matsiko Children's Choir with us this past week, our prayer focus this week is especially personal.
We had the opportunity to welcome them into our church, our homes, and our community. We shared meals together, spent time getting to know them, heard their stories, and experienced their ministry. Now, as they continue their journey, we have the opportunity to continue walking with them through prayer.

This year's Matsiko group is made up of 23 people who will spend an entire year in the United States, traveling and ministering through August 17, 2027. During that time, they will travel across the country, from Maine all the way to San Diego, sharing their music and their stories with churches and communities along the way.

The Matsiko Choir may have left New Life, but our opportunity to be part of their journey hasn't ended. We can continue to remember the faces we met, the stories we heard, and the relationships that were formed as we faithfully lift them before the Lord.

And now that we know their faces, let's continue to remember their names:
Hannah, Mercy, Winifred, Janet, Eunice, Beryl, Caroline, Tryphena, Tryphosa, Favor, Gabriel, Miracle, Treasure, Ellen, Musu, Habakkuk, Archlinn, Mariah, Zachary, Ian, Mechelle, Ali, and Don.

As they leave Fortville and continue that journey, let's faithfully cover them in prayer.

🙏 How to Pray

📚 Their Schooling
While traveling and performing, the children will also continue their education. Pray that they would learn and grow academically throughout this year and be able to balance their schooling with the demands of traveling and performing.

🚌 Safe Travel
There are thousands of miles ahead of them. Pray for God's protection on the road, reliable transportation, good health, strength, and opportunities for meaningful rest throughout a very busy year.

❤️ That They Would Know the Love of Jesus
Pray that each of these young people would personally know and experience the love of Jesus. Ask God to use this year, the people they meet, the churches they visit, and the relationships they develop to draw them closer to Him.

⛓ Freedom & Generational Change
Pray that through Jesus, chains of brokenness, poverty, hopelessness, and the schemes of the enemy would be broken. Ask God to use the opportunities, education, relationships, and truth these young people receive to change the trajectory not only of their own lives, but of generations to come.

🙏 God's Provision
Pray that the Lord would provide everything the choir needs throughout the coming year—finances, transportation, food, housing, host families, medical care, clothing, encouragement, and every need that may arise.

🤝 Staff & Volunteers
Pray for the staff and volunteers who will spend this year serving, teaching, transporting, encouraging, and caring for the choir. Ask God to give them wisdom, patience, energy, compassion, and endurance.

👤 Don Windham & Matsiko's Leadership
Pray specifically for Don Windham and those serving alongside him. Ask God to give them wisdom, discernment, endurance, and clear direction. Pray for God's protection over them and their families and that the Lord would equip them to lead and care for these young people well.

🎶 Their Ministry Across America
Pray for every church, school, host family, and community they will encounter between now and next August. Ask God to use their music, stories, and lives to point people toward Jesus and to make His love known everywhere they go.
